Once used in French kitchens and cellars for storing olive oil or cider, the Poterie Renault Oil Jar is a striking example of the quiet beauty found in functional craft. Hand-thrown in Bonnie-sur-Loire by fifth-generation artisans, its salt-glazed surface reveals the warm, earthen tones of the natural clay beneath — each piece distinct in texture and hue.

Durable and weighty, the jar’s robust form and graceful proportions speak to centuries of French utilitarian design. With the closure of the historic Poterie Renault workshop, these pieces have become rare remnants of a long pottery tradition first estamlished in 1847 — objects meant to be lived with, admired, and passed down.

Spout head not included.

Hand-wash recommended. To avoid temperature crazing, allow the piece to come to room temperature before moving between hot and cold environments.
