Burleigh Green Pheasants Small Plate
A small round plate from Burleigh's Green Asiatic Pheasants collection, hand-printed at Middleport Pottery in Stoke-on-Trent. The Asiatic Pheasants pattern has been in continuous production since 1862; the floral and pheasant border frames the smooth white centre across a gently raised rim.
Each piece is moulded, printed, and glazed by hand using copper plate engraving and tissue transfer.
Ideal as a side plate at a dinner setting, a dessert plate for a slice of cake, or a saucer beneath a teacup. A piece you'll reach for week after week, and one that ages gracefully into a passed-down piece.

The Burleigh story can be traced back to a July day in 1851. A hundred and seventy-five years later, the work continues at the same Victorian factory, decorated by hand using a 19th-century technique no other factory in the world still uses. Slow, considered work, shaped by a reigon that has defined English ceramics for the better part of three hundred years.
