Japanese Grapevine Serving Platter
A small oval porcelain serving plate, hand-made in Seto, Japan, finished with a scalloped rim and a tissue transfer pattern of trailing grapevines in soft sepia tones. The vines curve along both long edges, with grape clusters, curling leaves, and slender tendrils, leaving the centre of the plate open for serving.
Ideal for a small charcuterie spread, a centrepiece of seasonal fruit or cookies, or as a wall-plate piece in a gathered collection.
Japanese Grapevine Serving Platter
seto potters
This story begins in the heart of Japan's pottery region, where ceramics have been made for more than a thousand years. In 1950, a small ceramics shop opened its doors. Seventy-five years later, the studio's work is known across Japan. Slow, considered pieces, shaped by a place that has set the country's table for a millennium.
